Stand

São Paulo, 2007

A room built with automatic garage doors as walls programmed to move every two minutes, opening and closing, folding or sliding and overlapping. The panels, made of metal plates, perforated in seven different scales, when superimposed, multiplied the patterns and altered the wall’s transparency. Stand was commissioned by SP-Arte and was “annexed” to the Bienal de São Paulo’s pavilion as an extension of the space of the art fair towards Ibirapuera Park. It was never totally open or closed.
